G. Evelyn (Metzger) Howard

G. Evelyn Howard, 93, Johnstown, died October 3, 2021 at Laurel View Village. Born October 26, 1927 in Johnstown. She was the daughter of Ted and Gertrude (Blue) Metzger. Preceded in death by parents; husband Paul A.; grandson Dr. Mark Larnick; sisters Betty Allison and Rhoda Evans; brothers Teddy Metzger Jr. and Floyd Metzger. Survived by loving children Paulette (Joe Wohl), Floyd (Elaine Connah), Chris (Linda Rauch); grandchildren Brooke, Justin (Ashley), Renee, Courtney (Bob), Carey (Ryan), great grandchildren Chase, Luke, Annika, Bradley, Wesley, Damian, Dominic; and brother Dick Williams (Debbie). She was a former member of Roxbury Church of the Brethren where she was a deacon and Sunday school teacher. She currently attended as a member at Bridge to Life Church. She was a beautician for many years and managed to cut and perm most of her families hair. She loved games, pinochle was one of her favorite. She loved to crochet and made blankets for many newborns. She was a Mom who loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and the time she was able to spend with them. She loved to serve others. A devoted Christian who taught her family about God. Friends will be received Thursday from 3:00-7:00 pm at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 am, Pastor Chris Valente. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Day Inc.. Interment Benshoff Hill Cemetery.
