Francis C. Ruhe

Francis C. Ruhe, 91, Johnstown, died June 9, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. Born January 19, 1929 in Johnstown, son of the late Clement and Mae (Kunkle) Ruhe. Survived by wife, Joyce (Stephens); children, Scott Ruhe and Jodi Tims; grandchildren, Stephen Tims (Danielle), Christi Gillette (Josh), Adam Ruhe, and Veronica Ruhe; great grandchildren, Canyon and Corbin Gillette; and brothers James and Jean. A 1947 graduate of Johnstown High School, his career included seven years as a sports writer for the Tribune Democrat and thirty seven years in advertising and supervision for Acme Markets and IGA. He loved fishing with his grandchildren, family and friends. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School, and was active with the Men's Prayer Breakfast and other church committees. Friends received 3-6PM Thursday at Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford St., where funeral service will be held at noon Friday with Rev. Deborah Ackley-Killian officiating.
