Fern A. (Rice) Nyland

Fern Nyland, 87, Johnstown, died July 4, 2023, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 12, 1936, in Johnstown. Daughter of Herbert and Verna E. (Speicher) Rice. Preceded in death by parents; husband Thomas Nyland; daughter Catherine Nyland; brothers Ralph and Robert Rice. Survived by sons Terry, T.J., John; grandchildren Janet, Abigail, Jason ,and Ashley; sister Ruth Rice; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church. She retired from the Memorial Medical Center as a housekeeper. At her request there will be no public services. Donations may be made to Oakland United Methodist Church in her memory. Johns Henderson Company Funeral Home is serving the family.
