Evelyn H. Poloskey-James, 95, North Carolina, formerly of Johnstown, died September 28, 2026 at Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Wilmington, NC. Born June 5, 1931 in Johnstown, daughter of Louis and Elizabeth (Partsch) Harteis. Preceded in death by parents; 1st husband, Dr. Henry Poloskey; 2nd husband, Richard James; grandson, Michael Poloskey; brothers, Louis, Donald, and Edward: and sisters, Mary Koach, Ruth Vickers, Betty Martin, Etheleen Brewer, and Helen Bowman. Survived by children, Thomas (Linda Griffis); and Dorothy Poloskey; grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Michael, and Daniel; 16 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren; and brother, Paul (Cora). Evelyn was an avid bowler and liked to travel. She worked as a receptionist at Dr. Poloskey's office. Friends received 2-6PM Monday at Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford Street. Funeral mass will be held 10AM Tuesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, with Father David Peles, Celebrant. Committal, St. Joseph Cemetery.
