Ethel Louise Shaffer, 97, passed away August 27, 2021 at Quality Life Services. Born August 23, 1924 in Johnstown. Daughter of Frank B. and Lillian P. (Spotz) Mallery. Preceded in death by parents, husband Robert Cloyd Shaffer, half brother Ralph Mallery Sr. and sister Doris McGregor. Survived by loving children Linda Benyacko (William), Carol Hoffer (Terry), Nancy Hofecker (Owen Jr.), Bryan Paul Shaffer (Karen Fromm); grandchildren Robin Benyacko, Amy Hanik (Robert), Kelly Benyacko, Christine Benyacko, Paul Hoffer (Heather Shank), Debra Thomas (Jason), Owen Hofecker III (Nancy Burkardt), Carolyn Heiges (Dennis), Roy Hofecker (Laura Brosius), Justin Robert Shaffer; great grandchildren Bobby, Makayla, Abigail and Arabelle Hanik, Hope and Gracie Benyacko, Evan and Julia Thomas, Bryanna and Carter Hoffer, Madison Hofecker, Jakob and Meghan Heiges, Bella and Carson Hofecker, great great grandchildren Mya Rose Greathouse, Carter Jensen Shaffer and one great great granddaughter on the way; brother-in-law Roland Shaffer (Delores Lehman) and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. She was the past Matron O.E.S #495, a member of Tall Cedars and the Shriners. She was a volunteer at the Cambria County Library and the Westmont Community Arts Center. She loved painting, sewing, bowling, camping and traveling. She loved her family very much. They were the pride and joy in her life. Friends will be received Tuesday from 3:00-7:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills, 2503 Bedford Street. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am, at Bethany United Methodist Church, Pastor Adam Dotts. Interment Richland Cemetery.
