Esther C. (Cullis) Zane, 108. Passed away peacefully at home on March 18, 2026 in East Taylor Twp. Born February 16, 1918 in Johnstown, PA.
Preceded in death by parents, Leo and Edith (Lauer) Cullis, husband Jack, daughter Mary Lou, son-in-law Guy Andolina, grandson Dr Nicholas Zane, brothers Bud, John, and Paul and sisters Catherine, Rita, Edna, Madeline, Hilda and Helene. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survived by children Margaret "Peggy" Andolina, Simpsonville, SC; Janet (Bill) Flaugh, Johnstown; Linda (Ron) Wingard, New Florence; Jack (Cindy Mraz), Warriors Mark, Cathy (Gary) Zaramba, Summerhill and Barbara (George) Kopsic, Johnstown.
Esther was the proud grandmother of Kevin, Shawn (Terri), Patrick (Laura), Erin (Mark), Bryan (Jennifer), Jennifer (Jonathan), Mike (Courtney), Matthew, Leanne, Jared (Courtney) and Jessica, and great-grandmother to Jonathan, Hannah, Nicholas, Caeden, Gavin, Madison, Sean, Zachariah, Tristan, Corinne, Nora and Bennett. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who frequently came to visit her.
Esther enjoyed playing bingo, bus trips to casinos, doing word search books, and especially watching Mass and praying the rosary with EWTN. She enjoyed sewing and made many beautiful quilts for family and friends, and had sewn a hundred aprons for her church's various fundraisers.
She was a life-long member of The Church of the Transfiguration (formerly Sacred Heart) and managed to attend until she was 105.
A very special thank you to Camille Miller PA, for the care and attention she has shown Esther for many years. Thank you so much to Chris, Margarie, Connie, Valory and Tabitha from Nealen Personal Care and Caroline, Esther's neighbor Debi, and also to the staff who attended to her from Penn Hospice. These special people made it possible for her to spend her days in her own home. Friends received 1-4PM Sunday at Henderson-Makuchan Funeral Home, 434 First St., Conemaugh. Funeral mass will be held 10AM Monday at Church of the Transfiguration. Interment, Sacred Heart Cemetery.
