Elmer J. Weis, "Jack", 89, Windber, formerly of Johnstown, died February 2, 2024 at Windber Woods. Born August 21, 1934 in Windber, son of Bruce and Alverda (Shaffer) Weis. Preceded in death by parents; wife Patricia (Doyle); infant granddaughter, Halee Carpenter; brother, Norman; and sisters, Dorothy Carolus and Esther Barnes. Survived by children, Tracy (Keith Carpenter); and twins, Jeffrey (Jenny Kassander); and James (Barbara Adamy); grandchildren, Quinn Carpenter (Whitney); and Bailey Weis; great granddaughter, Valerie Carpenter; and siblings, Bruce, Jr., Richard, and Ruth Doyle. Jack was a member of Liberty Grace Brethren Church, and Windber Sportsman's Club. He was a US Army veteran. Friends received 3-7PM Tuesday at Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford St. where funeral service will be held 10:30AM Wednesday with Pastor Doug Black officiating. Entombment, Richland Mausoleum, where military rite will be conducted by Chas. Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team.
