Dorothy Simms

SIMMS- Dorothy Marie, 65, Johnstown. Sadly departed this world on August 20, 2025. Born January 23, 1960. Preceded in death by her mother Edith (Hall) Hamer and father Francis Paul Hamer, sons David "Bud" Jr. and Demiah, daughter LaChrissa, brother-in-law Wendell Simms, nephews Christopher Young Jr., Orean Ream IV, and Melvin Wright, and great niece Alaia Young. Survived by her loving daughters, Crystal (son-in-law Trevor) and Tiffany (Terry); grandchildren, Carmen, Saheed, MaeLynn, and Quamir Simms, and Kylee Stephens; sisters, Anna Mae, Gail Neisner (Scott) and Debbie Hamer; brother, Pete "Sim" Hamer (Gailz); ex husband, David Simms Sr. (Connie Cross); sister-in-law, Meshele; brother-in-law, Kevin (RoShunda), host of nieces, nephews and special friends, Betty Stahlman, Christine Stiffler, and Valeria Gordon, Nicole Maga. Dorothy attended Greater Johnstown High School and graduated from Cambria Rowe Business College with an associates degree in Business Management. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially the Annual Hamer Christmas Parties. Also, loved watching her beloved Dallas Cowboys, movies, music, parades and her Betty Boop collection. Dorothy will be missed by many. Special thanks to the Conemaugh Oncology Team, the Hillman Cancer Center and MaeTeshia Washington. Friends will be received Tuesday, from 2:00 until time of funeral service at 4:00 at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., Sylvia Miller Allen, officiating.
