Dorothy Fern (Weaver) Baumgardner

BAUMGARDNER- Dorothy, 98, of Johnstown, passed away April 27, 2026 at Heritage Ridge Senior Living at Johnstown. Born April 1, 1928, in Johnstown. The daughter of the late Alonza and Lydia (Hoffman) Weaver. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dwight Baumgardner and her son Randy Baumgardner. She was the last surviving of the Weaver siblings-six brothers, Clair, Roy, Alton, Dewey, Eugene, Richard, and five sisters, Beatrice, Ruth, Laura, Geraldine, Joanne . Her sister-in-law, Janet (Baumgardner) Blackburn, and brother-in-law, Ross Blackburn, also preceded her in death. Survived by her children, Gary (Sharon) Baumgardner, Summerhill, Brenda (Augie) Donate, and Corey (Lori) Baumgardner, all of Johnstown; her 9 grandchildren: Thad, Ryan, and Travis Baumgardner, Jodi (Donate) Stiffler, Amy (Donate) Seigh, Carrie (Baumgardner) Barron, Kylie (Baumgardner) Domonkos, Shannon (Donate) Colosimo, and Casey (Baumgardner) Ritter. She also has 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was employed at Greater Johnstown Vo-Tech and a member of Elton-Zion Church. She had many friends and loved spending time with the ladies at Curves gym in Richland. She enjoyed camping and beach vacations with family. Dorothy loved to go dancing, biking, walking, and gardening. Above all else, she was a devoted mother and grandmother who was blessed to have her family all live near her.

Friends will be received Thursday, April 30, 2026, 4:00-7:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills, 2503 Bedford Street. Funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Daryl Penrod at Elton-Zion Church, Elton, PA on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 11:00 am.
