Delores J. Holliday, "Gram", 84, Johnstown, died January 14, 2024, at Quality Life Services-Westmont. Born April 29, 1939, in Johnstown. Daughter of Carl Capel, Hilton Smith and Eula B. Jones. Preceded in death by fathers, mother, husband Otis J., sister Beatrice Holmes, brother Scrappy. Survived by loving daughters Antoinette D. Carter (Gregory), Julia E. Holliday; grandchildren La'Kenya (Jibri), Daricus, Nicole, Demetrius (Lindsey), Jayvon; great grandchildren Saveon, Sanaa, Dariya, Naeva, Ethan, Aryanna, Raegan, Demetrius Jr.; one great great grandchild on the way; siblings Robert (Cindy), Hilton (Margaret), Richard (Renee), Jeffery (Nenita); in-laws George, Gloria, Shirley, Robert, Patricia; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special nephew/son Richard "Buster" Holmes; special daughter Floretta Jefferson; loving canine companion Gotti. Graduate of Johnstown High School and Wayne State University of Detroit. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she was instrumental in the Kitchen Club. She loved going to the casino where she was a "penny machine mama". She was a advocate for her family, that she loved so dearly. She was their teacher of life lessons. She was the former activities manager along with Kevin Bean at the Atrium Manor. The family would like to thank Quality Life Services and Asera Care Hospice for the care they provided to Delores. Friends will be received Monday, January 22, from 4 to 7 pm at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 am, Rev. Clyde Williams and Evangelist Antionette White. Interment Benshoff Hill Cemetery.
