Dean Bracken, 89, formerly of Menoher Heights, passed away on Saturday, June 22nd at Windber Woods Nursing home. Born May 25, 1930, son of Joseph and Eleanor (Morussi) Bracken. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, David and John; sisters Angeline Simchock, Dwina Gartland and infant Mary. Survived by brother, Mario, Johnstown; Children: Dean Scott (Terri) Jodi Trio ( Gary) Jonathan (Kelly) Grandchildren: Eric Trio, Angela Rissler (Trio), Justin Bracken , Regina Sammon (Bracken) and Anthony Bracken; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired from Unites States Steel where he was employed for 35 years. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Former President and Vice President of USWA 1288. Member of American Legion Post 802. The family of Dean would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Staff of Windber Woods and also 365 Hospice. Friends received 5-7PM Tuesday at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 10AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church with Father Matthew Reese as celebrant. Committal, Grandview Cemetery where military rite will be conducted by Chas.
