David Ferner Obituary

Dr. David J. Ferner, 72, Etters, PA, formerly of Johnstown, died April 12, 2021 at his home. Born December 16,1948 in Johnstown. Son of Bertram S. and Dorothy M. (Dudek) Ferner. Preceded in death by parents and wife Valerie Joan (Coyle). Survived by sister Judi married to James Walsh; nieces Dr. Molly Kaplan (Kevin), Dr. Christi Walsh (Janna Carr); great nephews Jack and Matt Kaplan. David was a graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School, Pennsylvania State University and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He operated his family practice at Pinnacle Community Osteopathic Hospital. David enjoyed gardening in the yard and was a super fan of PSU football. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 am at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., Sam Anderson, officiating. Interment Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the PA Blue Bird Society.
