He later moved to Johnstown, PA where he attended and graduated from Greater Johnstown High School. He made significant contributions to the Johnstown Magazine, Tribune Democrat Newspaper, Bottle Works, and for the Gallery on Gazebo. Clyde was a contributor to the Civil Rights Movement by battling human rights and he was actively engaged with the Johnstown Housing Authority and Ethics Civil Boards. He was honored with the Freedom Award by the NAACP in 1980. Deacon Clyde was a longstanding member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church having served for over 50 years. This singing, praying and witnessing warrior was ordained as a Deacon of St. James Missionary Baptist Church serving in the capacity of Deacon Board Chairman for greater than 30 years. Additionally, he served in the Trustee ministry, Men's Choir, Sunday School Class Lead, along with other ministries within the church.
