Chester Harris

Chester Harris passed away on the 18th of February 2023 at the Twin Lakes Rehabilitation Center in Greensburg, PA. Chester was born in Johnstown, PA on the 23rd of January 1939, the son of Hugh and Martha A. (Berry) Harris. Preceded in death by parents and the following siblings; Shirley A. Berry, Theodore L. "Tido" Harris and John E. Harris. Surviving, ex-wife the former Verna Mae Porcher and these children; Sherry George, Johnstown, Stacy Burton, Virginia, Maurice Berry and Mark Meyers, Harrisburg, PA; brothers, Richard H. Harris, Henry E. Harris, Rudolph K. Harris, Lawrence A. Harris; sister, Edith L. Harris; special friend King Jordan and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Chester was employed by the Tribune Democrat, Bethlehem Steel and Penelec, where he retired. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Interment Benshoff Hill Cemetery.
