Charles J. Michael, 79, Johnstown, died May 5, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 10, 1941 in Johnstown, son of Akel C. and Thanet (Peer) Michael. Preceded in death by parents; daughter Eleanor and sister Jean Ivicic. Survived by loving wife of 57 years, Linda (Clites); children, Deirdra Michael (Wilmington NC), Charles A. Michael (New Florence), Andrea Lamantia (Johnstown), Douglas (Kimberly) Michael (White Plains, NY), Claudine (Thomas) Seitz (Johnstown), Kevin (Holly) (Conemaugh); twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters Remont (late Raymond) Herdman, Judy (William) Miller and Elaine (Paul) Kurcin; and his beloved cat, Rosie. Charlie was a pipe-fitter at Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral and the Knights of Columbus, former vice president of USWA, past president Gautier Federal Credit Union. Charlie was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the Steelers and Penn State football but his greatest joy was watching his grandchildren do the things they loved. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Arbutus Park Manor Crossroads or Alzheimer's Association. Due to the current COVID restrictions all services will be private.
