Charles (Butch) L. Hunt, 83, Johnstown, died September 22, 2025 at home. Born June 4, 1942 in Johnstown, son of Joseph Ord and Ethel Jane (Sharpe) Hunt. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, William, Thomas, and Ronald; and sister, Patricia Pittman. Survived by wife Barbara (Mellott); children, Barbara (George Irvin); and Charles; grandson, Jeremiah Irvin; brother, Harry; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of Westmont Methodist Church. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp and BioTest Medical.
Butch was involved in many organizations, Menoher Heights Volunteer Fire Company for which he served as Fire Chief for 4 years, as a Scoutmaster for both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America for many years among many other organizations. He was known for many things, his woodworking and crafts, gardening, nature photography, husbandry of just about any animal that you can name, his love of hunting, fishing and trapping, and especially his love for his family.
Friends received Wednesday 4-7PM and Thursday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave.
