Beverly (Boser) Held

Beverly M. Held passed away on February 12, 2021 at Windber Hospice. She was a long time resident of Dale Borough before moving to Orchard Point Cottages in Windber. Born May 2, 1949 in Johnstown, Daughter of Frank and Rose (Slavick) Boser. Preceded in death by loving parents, husband Jerry (April 27, 2012), father and mother-in-law William (Bud) and Ruth Held; grandparents, many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and step-grandson Justin. Survived by son Jeffrey and wife Lisa Held of Stoystown and daughter Melissa and husband Steven Cratty of Richland; beloved grandchildren Jeffrey (significant other Emily), Jill (significant other Matthew), Michael, and Katerina, step-granddaughter Jessica, great grandchildren Jensen, Malie, unborn Jeffrey III, and step-great granddaughter Angelina. Also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. Graduate of Ferndale Area High School class of 1967. Former secretary for Toy Ladies Party Plan and tax collector for Dale Borough for over 30 years. Enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and activities. Loved her Pittsburgh Steelers, lighthouses, anything "beachy", and being on Facebook with family and friends. Member of the Johnstown Classic Clowns (aka Babbles) and Caring Clowns (aka Dr. C. Nyle). Attended Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist Church. A special thanks to Dr. Kelly Warshel, the nurses, and the aides at Windber Hospice along with her caregivers Carol, Debby, and Lena. A special thank you to Jim and Judy Virgin for all their help and friendship, too. Friends received from noon until the hour of service at 2PM Wednesday at Henderson funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford St., with Pastor Jim Sands officiating. Masks and social distancing are required by those attending. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Windber Hospice.
