Bernice Ketterer Obituary

Bernice I. (Andrews) Ketterer, 97 of Laurel View Village Davidsville died January 4, 2020. Born August 4, 1922 in Johnstown daughter of the late William and Amelia (Martzie) Andrews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years R. Owen Ketterer, five sisters, and six brothers. Survived by son William H. Ketterer (Deborah A. Saintz) Ketterer of Sumter, SC, daughter Karen L. (Patrick L.) McDermott of Pittsburgh, Pa., grandson Patrick L. (Emily) McDermott, granddaughter Autumn L. (Matthew) Hughey and great grandchildren Logan, Brynn, Andrew, and Sean.  A US Navy veteran of WW II, member of Anna L. Windolph Chapter #495 OES Johnstown. Retired organist from Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church after thirty years. She and her husband founded the R. Owen Ketterer Funeral Home in 1947.  A funeral service will be held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church at noon Thursday with the Rev. Scott Klimke and Pastor Wes Yoder officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family requests donations made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1000 Scalp Ave. Johnstown, Pa. 15904, or to Laurel View Care Fund, 2000 Cambridge Dr. Davidsville, Pa. 15928. Services by Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford St. Johnstown, Pa. 15904.
