Barbara A. (Marchl) Sharpe

Barbara A. Sharpe, 88, Johnstown, died October 19, 2021 at Windber Hospital. Born November 6, 1932 in Johnstown, daughter of Edward and Anna Marie (Abler-Buterbaugh) Marchl. Preceded in death by parents; infant daughter, Mary Beth; son, Thomas M.; and son-in-law, Kevin Fox. Survived by husband, Thomas R.; children, Susan M. Fox, Marcey Sharpe, and Kurt Sharpe; daughter-in-law, Tracy Sharpe; grandchildren, Jamie (Brian Borodaty), Travis Fox (Loni), Tyler Sharpe, Cory Sharpe, and Danielle Rager; great grandchildren, Steele and Cole Selders, and Savannah Sharpe; and 3 nephews. Barbara was a devout Christian, and very active member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, where she cantered and sang in the choir. She was a housewife and loving mother. She served on the board of directors of the condo association at Englewood , FL where they lived during the winter. She was a member of the Ladies Christian Club. She enjoyed her pinochle clubs, and playing bingo. She was a very sweet and well versed lady who was loved and will be missed by all. By request, there will be no public viewing. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 1PM at St. Benedict Church with Father David Peles as celebrant. Committal, Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center, St. Benedict Church, or American Cancer Society. Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford St., is serving the Sharpe family.
