BARBARA C. CASAVANT, 88, Johnstown, died July 20, 2020 in Johnstown. Born April 17, 1932 in Johnstown, daughter of Leah (Gilbert) and Barney Carthew. Preceded in death by parents; and husband Raymond S. Casavant. Survived by sister, Shirley C. Colbert; nephew Charles R. (Chuck) Colbert III, best friend Nedra Ridella; and wonderful caregivers, Lou Anne, Heather, Cathi, Dotty, and Kim. To all, a very special Thank You. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Barbara taught elementary school and served as principal at Roxbury in the Greater Johnstown School District for several decades. A private person, she enjoyed time in her yard with gardening and landscaping and her cats. Funeral services, handled by John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave, are private.
