Dr. Andrew Joseph George, Jr.

Dr. Andrew Joseph George, Jr., "Andy" passed away April 4, 2025 at Heritage Ridge. Born August 5, 1950 son of the late Andrew and Mary George. Survived by son, Andy and his wife, Stephanie; brother, Alex and his wife, Debbie, and their children, Alex and Andrea. "Doc" as he was known to many was retired child psychologist for Johnstown Schools. He prided himself on his work helping many children that came under his care. Everyone that knew him always remarked on his ready and ever-persistent sense of humor. He enjoyed time outdoors, whether going for a drive (preferably in a red sports car), standing by the lake fishing, or "adopting" the many animals that lived in the woods near his home. He was an avid sports fan, especially watching auto racing and rooting for, discussing, and occasionally being angry at his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Most of all, Doc enjoyed sitting down to a good meal with family and friends. Friends receive Tuesday from 2PM until the hour of service at 4:30PM at Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Johnstown Humane Society.
