GLOSSER- William Louis," Bill", 88, of Johnstown, passed away on December 15, 2017 at home. Born August 30, 1929. He is the son of Saul I. and Eva (Hurwitz) Glosser. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Alvin and Morton. Devoted father of his children, Alix married to Michael Paul of Pittsburgh, Jill Glosser of Los Angeles, CA, and Jonathan of Maine; loving, devoted and enthusiastic grandfather of David, JD, and Jimmy Paul. Also survived by his former wife, Patricia Glosser and nieces, Diane and Mindy and nephew Saul. He was a graduate of Temple University and University of Pennsylvania, J.D., (Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity- Alpha Delta Chapter) prior to serving in the Army. Bill practiced law in both Florida and Pennsylvania. He served as U.S. Commissioner and Magistrate Judge. Also, he was the Corporate Secretary of Glosser Bros., Inc. Bill had a great passion for his community and was an active member or member of the Board of Directors for the following: YMCA, Community Foundation of the Alleghenies, Mt. Aloysius College, Bachelors Club, Johnstown Advisory Council to the PA Human Relations Commission, Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Bnai Brith, Beth Sholom Congregation, Rotary, United Jewish Federation of Johnstown, Lee Health Systems, UPMC Lee Regional Hospital, Lee Initiatives and ACLU. Life member of NAACP. He was the recipient of the Jaycees Man of the year Award. Bill will be deeply and forever missed and lovingly remembered for his optimism, cheerful demeanor, sense of humor, warmth and love of his family. A special thank you to Joe Santichen for watching out for Bill and caring for his beloved dog Cocoa. Friends will be received from 11:00 until time of service at Noon, Tuesday at John Henderson Co.
