Herald, Samuel J. Jr.,69, Johnstown, passed away September 4, 2017 at home. Born September 13, 1947 in Johnstown son of the late Samuel J. Sr. and Catherine (Miller) Herald. Also preceded in death by first wife, Shirley Griffith Herald; sister, Nancy Herald. Survived by wife; Evelyn (Green) Herald; son, Samuel Herald III (Debbie) New Oxford, PA; daughter, Jennifer Koons (Marvin) Aspers, PA; grandchildren, Faith Taylor, Tessa, Marvin III, Lily Koons, Dustin Herald, Shelby Herald; great grandchildren, Jackson Taylor and Dylan Williams. Also survived by sister, Elizabeth Gibson and twin brother Rev. Edwin Herald both of Johnstown. Sam was a member of First United Methodist Church, Johnstown, where he was President of the Board of Trustees and a representative to JUMP. At one time, he worked for the city of Johnstown in the Garbage Department and the Highway Department. Friends will be received Friday from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., Rev. Edwin Herald. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home.  Interment Grandview Cemetery.
