Richard "Tex" E Unger

UNGER_ Richard E. “Tex,” 81, Johnstown. Passed away January 4, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Born December 10, 1936 in Johnstown. Son of Jenery and Rose (Anderson)  Unger. Preceded in death by parents, step father  Earl Fitzpatrick, special granddaughter Jessica Unger and nephews Ricky and Jimmy Unger. Survived by wife of 59 years, Donna L. (Moore); children Greg married to Nanci (Kintz), Doug married to Deanna (Custer), Gina Herrera and Dennis all of Johnstown; grandchildren Melissa Davis, Ryan Unger, Ashley Brocious, Jason and Daniel Unger, Bobbi, Jordan, and Samuel Herrera, and Sadie and Molly Unger; and brother James married Anna (Ventry). Member of the The Journey. Former employee of Ralston Purina and Cambria County Court System prior to a former Board Member of Greater Johnstown School District for 17 years where he served as a President. He was an avid golfer, Philadelphia Flyer fan. He loved spending time with his family, sporting events, hunting, fishing with his brother and sons. He was passionate about life. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 Tuesday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 Wednesday at Crucified Church, 218 Maple Ave., in Woodvale. Pastor Raymond Streets Jr, officiating. Interment Richland Cemetery.
