James, Richard A. Sr., 83, Ferndale, died peacefully June 5, 2018 at his home. Born February 28, 1935 in Johnstown, son of Frank C. and Mary (Kenny) James. Preceded in death by parents, 1st wife Amelia “Cookie” (Wicknick); brothers, William and John; sister, Mary Margaret Frye and grandson, Carl A. James. Survived by 2nd wife Evelyn (Harteis) Poloskey James; children, Linda James, Richard A. Jr. married to Debra (Hostetler), Melissa Buck widow of David P. Buck, Christine Beatty and Davide Zett; step children, Thomas Poloskey married to Linda (Griffis) and Dorothy Poloskey; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; three step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. He was a member of Moxham Christian Church where he served as an elder. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 849 and IOOF Alma Lodge 523, Chas. Menoher Post 155 VFW. He was the secretary and treasurer of the Ferndale Sportsman Club and a member the Ferndale Fire company. He was the owner of F&D Painting and retired from the Navy after 34 years. At his request there will be no public viewing.
