Philip C. Hoffman

Philip C. Hoffman, 58, of Geistown, died December 5, 2017, at Montefiore Hospital following a six year battle with end-stage renal disease. He was born February 12, 1959, in Johnstown, son of the late Fred C. and Louise (Hornick) Hoffman. He was preceded in death by greatly missed sister, Dolores Skelly. Survived by sister, Pauline; brother, Gregory; special niece, Cynthia Skelly; step-niece, Sister Marita Cecelia, OCD; brother-in-law, Daniel Skelly; aunt, Helene Hoffman; along with many loved cousins. Phil was a former auto mechanic/service manager at Hornick Auto for 36 years. Prior to his illness, he enjoyed weekend hikes and trips to local racetracks. He was a NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Pittsburgh Penguins fan. The family would like to thank Dr. Suneeta Gadde and the caring staff of DaVita Budfield Home Dialysis who became friends as well as caregivers. There will be no viewing at the request of the deceased. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, where funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Rev. David S. Peles, interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
