Patricia Laverne (Harrison) Ribblett

Patricia Laverne Ribblett, 84, Johnstown, died December 8, 2018, at her home. She was born April 8, 1934, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Carl and Louise (Barkhymer) Harrison. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald L. Ribblett; children, Susan R. Weimer, and husband, Kevin, York; Lori D. Sentz, and husband, Wayne, Gettysburg; and Roy L. Ribblett, and wife, Deborah, Indiana; grandchildren, Jeffrey Crosley, Andy Sentz, Dusty Sentz, Kelsey Borusiewicz, and Ross Ribblett; great grandchildren, Brady, Cailey, Chloe, and Brooklyn; and brothers, Ronald Harrison, and wife, Jane, Gettysburg; and Lenn Harrison, and wife, Sandra, Kentucky. She was a member of the Summit Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed craft’s, sewing, flower arranging, reading, and gardening. She served as a volunteer for Easter Seals Society, and was the 1952 Turkey Queen. Laverne was an inspiration to those who knew her. She was a devoted daughter and sister, and a caring mother-in-law. She was a loving wife and mother devoted to the Lord and her family, above all else, Laverne was courageous and strong in her battle with Parkinson’s disease. Her struggle ended peacefully, and she entered into the Lord’s presence with her family around her. “Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; and she smiles at the future. She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue”. Proverbs 31: 25-26. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 pm Tuesday at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday at Summit Chapel United Methodist Church, Rev.
