Orahnde M. Askew

Orahnde M. Askew, 19, Blairsville, died August 13, 2019. Born May 6, 2000 in Johnstown. Son of Jesse Askew and Jocelyn (Rummel) Westbrook. Preceded in death by his father and aunt Nicole Dugan. Survived by mother; step-father, Lawrence Westbrook; siblings, Destiny, Jaque, Saria, Cage, Ivory, Lawrence, Azariah, Valora and Jada; grandparents, Jeanette Askew, Paul Rummel, Chrisinda Rummel, Craig Berry, Lawrence McCarver and Robin Westbrook; great grand mother, Amelia Wagner and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Blairsville. Orahnde attended Blairsville Senior High School. Through his high school years he excelled in football, basketball and track and field. His athleticism was undeniable. Orahnde graduated high school in the spring of 2018 and then earned his acceptance into IUP, he successfully completed one semester. Orahnde or Rahnde as we called him, was a breath of fresh air for all who had the opportunity to be in his presence. His smile radiant, his laugh was contagious, and his heart was as big as they come. He will truly be missed and will always be loved. Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at John Henderson Company Funeral Home 215 Central Ave., where a funeral service will be held Monday at 2 pm, Pastor Ronnie C. Morris.
