Joseph P. Trapanotto, 87, Geistown, passed away peacefully October 19, 2019 at Windber Hospice. Born December 4, 1931, in Johnstown, son of Vincenzo James and Lucia (Crowe) Trapanotto. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Nancy (Michnya); brother, Angelo “Sam”; and daughter-in-law, Jane. Survived by children, Christina (Michael Barry); Dr. Victoria; Joseph; Matthew (Tina McLaughlin); Jeanne (Vincent Falvo); and Dr. Vincent (Jennifer Thomas); grandchildren, Anna, Ellen, Grace, Daniel, Levi, Jacob, Vincent Mario, Francesca, Chloe, Sophia, and Lucia; and several “granddogs”. Brother of Margaret Carpenter and John “Donnie”. Also survived by special companion, Carmen Schellhammer. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, and VFW Post 155. He was the owner and operator of Joe’s Barber Shop. Joe served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. By request, there will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a concelebrated funeral mass on Tuesday at 10AM at St. Benedict Church with Father David Peles and Father Francis Balestino. Committal, St. Anthony Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Windber Hospice. Arrangements are by Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford St.
