John "Pudge" Gjurich

John “Pudge” Gjurich, 58, Johnstown, died unexpectedly July 9, 2017, at West Penn Hospital, after his 10 year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born April 30, 1959, in Huntington Station, NY, son of the late Blaine Gjurich, Sr. and Elizabeth “Lee” (Georgi) Gjurich. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Keiser. He is survived by his wife, Val (Figura) Gjurich, whom he married November 30, 1991; son, Nick Gjurich; brothers, Blaine Gjurich, Jr., and Thomas Gjurich; sister, Susanna Gjurich; and brother-in-law, Bill Keiser. He was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, and the Harmony Singing Society. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where Trisagion Prayers of Mercy will be sung at 7 p.m. Trisagion Prayers of Mercy will be sung at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home followed by Funeral Service at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, the Very Rev.
