WEAKLAND—Joan Grace, 87,Johnstown, passed away June 8, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Born May 15, 1931 in Johnstown daughter of William H. and Margaret (Kennedy) Hawthorne. Preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Hawthorne and sister-in-law, Betsy Hawthorne. Survived by husband of 65 years, John; children, William J. married to Sandra and Gary L. married to Kimberly; grandchildren, Michael J. married to Colleen and Kari and Terrill; great grandchildren, Sydney Weakland, Ella and Jaxon Simms. She was a member of Roxbury St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She loved to crochet and quilt. She was a telephone operator at Bell telephone before starting a family. The family would like to thank the nurses on the Palliative Care unit for the care they provided to Joan. All services will be private. JOHN HENDERSON COMPANY FUNERAL HOME is serving the family. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
