Janice Tonski-Roth

Janice Tonski-Roth, 59, Geistown, passed away peacefully at home October 9, 2017. She was born August 15, 1958 in Johnstown. Preceded in death by father, Edward; and brother Daniel. Survived by loving husband, Ray; siblings, Robert, Brian, Anthony, and Linda. Also survived by step children, Rusty, Randy, Rick, and Ranee;  “Grandma Jan’s” step grandchildren, Robert, Justin, Shawn, Shay, Logan, Hailey, Noelle, and Bethany; step great grandchildren, Kaden, Carter, Andrew, and Aven; nephews, Daniel, James, Andrew, Bradley, and Jake; nieces, Beth, Jennifer, and Marissa; and loveable pooch, Graycie. She was a member of St. Michael Church in St. Michael, and American legion Post 460, Beaverdale. Janice was a graduate of Mount Aloysius College where she obtained a registered nursing degree. She worked at Conemaugh and Lee Hospitals in Johnstown, and James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, FL. Janice was retired from the US Army and US Army National Guard, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division Special Forces. Janice’s family extends a special thankyou to the staff at Windber Hospice for their love and care extended during Janice’s illness.Friends received from 2 until 4 and 6 until the time of service at 7:30pm Thursday, at Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford St., with Father Brian Warchola officiating. Graveside committal service will be held Friday at 10 am at Grandview Cemetery, where military rite will be conducted by Chas. Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.
