James A. Koontz

James A. Koontz, 86, Johnstown, died July 13, 2019 at Laurelwood Care Center. Born October 17, 1932 in Johnstown. Son of Albert and Mary (Patricko) Koontz. Preceded in death by parents and grandson, Joshua Marrocco. Survived by wife of 62 years, Constance (Pannone); children, Kim Raymond (Bob), Victoria Emmett (Kevin); grandchildren, Santino Love, Elliot Love and Joseph Vito DeLuca; great granddaughter, Gianna Love; sister, Kathleen Shelton; brother, Robert; also survived by many nieces and nephews. James was a Korean War Veteran. He was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist church. He loved to walk and would stop to talk and make friends, wherever he traveled. There will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 1:00 pm, at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Inurnment, St. Anthony's Cemetery. The family would like to thank Grane Hospice and Laurelwood Care Center for the kind, compassionate care they provided especially in his final days.
