Helen (Chanonich) Hutzel

Helen Hutzel, 98, Johnstown, died October 21, 2019, at The Allegheny Lutheran Home. Born September 12, 1921, in Johnstown, daughter of John and Mary (Hrivnak) Chanonich. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Robert H.; brothers, Paul, John, Michael, Alex, and George; and sisters, Margaret in infancy, Ann, Irene Brazil, Marie Rego, and Margaret J. Meredith. Survived by several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing and baking. Helen worked Westmont Dairy Dell, the Pentagon, and Johnstown Traction Company. Friends received 11AM until the hour of service at 1PM Friday at Henderson-Makuchan Funeral Home, 434 First St., Conemaugh, with Rev. Dr. Robert Oravetz. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society.
