Gary M. Fleegle

Gary M. Fleegle, 72,  Johnstown, died on November 13, 2018 at the Palliative Care Unit of Conemaugh Hospital.  He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jeanne (Kilgore); Children-LeeAnn, wife of Paul Stuever; Gary Robert, husband of Carissa (Budzina); and Tricia, wife of Mike Cooper;  Grandchildren- Bobby, Nathan, Jarrod, Austin, Luke and Caileigh Fleegle; Ben and Aaron Cooper; extra grandson Adam Gephart and Eagle Scout buddy, Joseph Chobany.  Survived by brother Kenneth Irwin, married to Judy and sister Carolyn, married to Mack Kean and numerous nieces and nephews including Sherry Wendell, Debbie Koontz and Wendy Kilgore.  Preceded in death by parents Merle and Lorna Fleegle, two infant brothers, sisters Lois Miller, Doris Cassat and Linda Fleegle; and brothers Ron and Wayne. Started work at Penn Machine Company in December, 1964, as an office clerk, and worked as a machinist and supervisor of maintenance until retirement in July, 2015.  Served in various offices of United Steelworkers Labor Union, including president.  Served in the 28th MP Company, National Guard.  Member of  Moxham PNA,  Moxham GBU and Harmony Society.  Graduate of Johnstown High Class of 1964, where he served on the reunion committee and enjoyed the monthly class dinners.  He loved to sing the “oldies.”  We will miss our Sunday and holiday meals –he was a great cook. We are grateful to UPMC Cancer Care Center, Conemaugh Regional Hospice and Conemaugh Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit for their loving and compassionate care. Friends will be received Friday, November 16 from 2PM-4PM and 6PM-8PM at HendersonFuneral Home- East Hills, 2503 Bedford St., where service and celebration of his life will be held Saturday, November 17 at 11AM with Pastor Chris Valente. Entombment to follow at Grandview Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Conemaugh Regional Hospice, 315 Locust St, Suite 5E, Johnstown, PA 15901.
