Frederick Miller Obituary

God saw Fred was getting tired, so He put His arms around him on March 13, 2018, and whispered “Come with me.” Fred took his last earthly breath at the Palliative Care Unit of Good Sam Hospital, with his wife of nearly 62 years by his side. Fred was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Helen (Delozier) Miller; brother-in-law, Jack Devlin; and sister-in-law, Dorcas Miller. Fred is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; daughter, Melinda, spouse of Douglas Geisel, Indiana; and son Bradley, and spouse Kathy, Johnstown. Fred is also survived by grandchildren, Aimee (Geisel), spouse of Ryan Altimore, Johnstown; Steven Geisel, Palm Harbor, FL; Angela, spouse of Jason Merriman; and Jennifer, spouse of Todd Skowron, both of Johnstown. Surviving great grandchildren are Kelsi, Aubree, Jacob, Gavin, Alayna, and Jordan, who he amazed by finding quarters that grew behind their ears. Fred is survived by sister, Virginia Devlin, Indiana; brother Ron Miller, Marietta, GA; and brother-in-law, Dennis McClellan of York. His fun loving nature will be missed by his nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. Fred saw the country by driving over 4 million safe miles during his truck driving career. He later retired as an inventory controller of Pepsi in Johnstown. Fred enjoyed golfing, bowling, and watching the Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers. He was loved by all, and always had a joke to tell. At Fred’s request, there will be no viewing. We invite everyone to join us for an open house “Celebration of Life” to be held Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Solomon Run Fire Hall, from 2-6PM.
