Edna Ruth (James) Weaver

Edna Ruth (James) Weaver, 95, went to be with her Lord Jesus on August 11, 2018, in Atlanta, GA. She was born July 20, 1923, to Harry and Carrie James, in Johnstown. Edna was married to Clyde D. Weaver for 16 years until his death in 1962. She then raised their daughters, Carol Lynn Arnold and Jamie Weaver. Edna was a graduate of Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She had a 40 year career working at various hospitals, retiring from Lee Hospital in 1984. Edna was a quilter at Grove Avenue United Methodist Church, and most recently was active with the Atlanta Chapter of Gold Star Wives. Edna loved, and was loved, by her daughters and son-in-law, Samuel Arnold, grandsons, James (Shelli Hunter), Gregory (Jo Ann Bauer), and David (Susan Bougie). She was a warm and loving great grandmother to Nathan, Bella, Lydia, Ella, Chais, Emma, Adam, Isaac, and Lillian. She shared many wonderful memories with her sister, Carol Lee (William Wray), and brother, John James (Veronica Harlan), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Her grace, charm, and kindness touched so many lives. She will be greatly missed. A celebration of her wonderful lifewill be held at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., with a visitation from 3 to 6 pm on Friday. Graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Saturday at 10 am.
