Sandy, I loved both your parents, and they are now reunited and happy. I still have the scripture plaque that your dad gave me so many years ago (still hanging). My love to you all.

My deepest sympathy to Doc's entire family. I worked with your father at Ferndale school district. I was the food service director, and my whole staff loved his morning visit to the kitchen for a slice of burnt toast. He also officiated at our daughters wedding. May you find God's peace in his passing.

Doc was a very compassionate person. I worked at Ferndale Hs as secretary when he was principal. He was a wonderful boss. We retired the same year. I think of him often and remember his smile and good humor. Many sympathies to his family. I will always remember him and our great working relationship.

He was a great Christian man. He was my pastor at Faith EUB Church in Altoona when I was a child. He mentored my brother and my little sister cried when he left our church in Altoona. He influenced the smallest of children without even knowing it. We moved to Johnstown and imagine my surprise when he became my gym teacher at Garfield Junior High. By the looks of his obit it appears that almost every waking moment of his life was dedicated to helping others in the name of Jesus. So sad to see us losing the best pastors we ever had. We need more ministers like him. Heaven is a brighter place (if that is possible) today and the angels are rejoicing. He is with his precious Heavenly Father and his beloved wife. Prayers of comfort and peace for his children and grandchildren as they face these difficult days ahead.
