David B. Empfield, 64, of Benshoff Hill, passed away February 2, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born December 17, 1953, son of the late Max D. and Edna Mae (Rager) Empfield. David is survived by his loving wife, Diana (Angus) Empfield; children, Scott McFeaters (Marisa); Brian Empfield, and Kristi Empfield; grandchildren, Erin, Keagan, Reed, and Quinn; sister, Donna J. Smith (Gerald); mother-in-law, Irene Angus; sisters-in-law, Karen Buzzard (Bill); and Suzann Risch (Joseph). He will also be deeply missed by his niece, Heather Smith, and many nieces and nephews; and his four legged companion, Murphy. He was employed by Pepsi and worked security for NDIC and Alutiiq Protective Services security firm. David served as police chief and constable for Middle Taylor Township. He was a NRA certified firearms instructor and a member of the North-South Skirmish Association. The family expresses special appreciation to Dr. Sbeitan and his staff, especially Amy and Niki, and Conemaugh’s 6th floor ICU for their compassionate care. Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. Robert Wolf, officiating.
