Cecilia A. (Smoter) Kearns

Cecilia A. Kearns, 92, Johnstown, died May 2, 2019 at Laurelwood Care Center. Born November 23, 1926 in Conemaugh, daughter of John and Agnes (Hajduk) Smoter. Preceded in death by parents; husband Paul; brothers Sigmond, Stephen, Frank, John; sisters, Stella Hejak, Gladys Cartwright; sister-in-law, Ann Smoter; close friend, Alex Bereansky. Survived by nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was a member of Church of the Transfiguration, Legion of Mary, Holy Rosary Society, St. Cecelia choir, Polish Womens Alliance, group 501 and a "Grandma" for the Central Catholic School. A funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10:30 am at Church of the Transfiguration, Rev. Robert C. Hall. Interment Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Transfiguration. Henderson Makuchan Funeral Home 434 First Street is serving the family.
