Catherine Lois (Clark) Jones

Jones- Catherine Lois; 95, Fairfax, VA, passed away peacefully July 4, 2018 at her home of 5 years, Sunrise, George Mason, Assisted Living in Fairfax, VA. Born, May 27, 1923 in Hooversville, PA, the daughter of Joshua and Bertha (Geisel) Clark. Deceased family members include her parents, husband Nathan to whom she was devoted and happily married for 54 years; brothers Harry, Charles Sr., Alvin, Eugene, Robert, Clifford; sisters Ida, Ruth, Pearl and Mary; nephews, Charles Jr, Harry; nieces, Virginia, Lillian, Dorothea, Jeanne, Alice and Shirley. Loving and dedicated mother to son, David, and daughter Karen (David) Budd; loving and giving grandma to Kimberly Jones, Jaime Jones, Douglas Jones (Lisa), Kathryn Budd, and Kelsey Budd (Kevin) Alas and great grandma to Nathan Jones, Calvin Jones, and Theodore Alas. Loving aunt to her nephews Robert, Gwynn, Jerry, Dennis, Adam and niece Sandra. Loving aunt and friend to her niece June (Clark) Fetzer and great niece, Barbara (Clark) Huang. Catherine was also aunt to her nephew Vaughn (Karen) Jones and their son, Stewart. Catherine was a lifelong Christian and member of Moxham Lutheran Church where she loved giving of her time to make quilts for the needy with her beloved friends, the Slip, Stitch and Knot Gang. She was also a dedicated and supportive member of the Missionary Society whose charter included the support of many missionaries whose work it was to follow the Great Commission and spread the Good News of the Gospel to all nations of the world. Catherine was also a tireless volunteer for the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society. She served as an assistant Girl Scout leader for many years. Friends received from Noon until time of Funeral Service at 1:00 Tuesday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home. Interment will be at the P.O.S. of A. Cemetery in Hooversville, PA immediately following.
