Alfred D. DePra, 90, Johnstown, died June 23, 2018. Born November 6, 1927, in Johnstown, son of Joseph and Clara (Funicella) DePra. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, John (Stella); and Arthur (Ruth); and sister Joann McCann (Richard). Survived by wife of 63 years, Janet Lou (Langer) DePra, whom he married September 8, 1955 in Winchester, VA; son, Alan Jay and signifigant other, Cathy Alwine; daughter, Janean Susan Kulback, and fiancé, Richard Davies; and grandson, Kurtis Lee Kulback, who is attending Nova Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was the brother of Elmer (Mary); Richard; Angeline; and Rose Peterson (Pete). Also survived by 13 nieces and 10 nephews, of which, Scotty, Tracey, Corey and Casey were extremely close to him. Al attended St. Theresa Church. He worked as a television technician for Penn Furniture from 1955 until it closed. Al was a USMC Staff Sergeant, having served during World War II, and being recalled during the Korean Conflict. He had a special sense of humor. His nickname was “Troubleshooter” because there was nothing he could not fix. He loved his yearly family trips to Ocean City, MD. Al was a good man who led a good life. He will be dearly missed. By request, there will be no public viewing. Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
