Suzanne (Ballentine) Warshel

Suzanne Warshel, 105, Johnstown, died January 13, 2017, at McCullough Place. She was born September 8, 1911, in Strattanville, daughter of the late Abner Jackson and Annie L. (Holtzhauer) Ballentine. Preceded in death by her husband, William Carl Warshel, Sr.; grandson, Erik Matthew Warshel; and brothers, Daniel Gerald Ballentine, Guy Preston Ballentine, and David William Ballentine. She is survived by her children, William Carl Warshel, Jr., and wife, Barbara (Bowers); James Wade Warshel, and wife, Beverly (Cuppett); Jean Ann Wolfhope, and husband, Francis; and Mabel Virginia Griffith, and husband, William; 14 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. She served as a volunteer for Hospice at Windber Hospital, was a foster parent for 33 years, and worked as a cashier at the former Gee Bee Grocery Store in Richland. Friends will be received from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8pm on Tuesday at Henderson Funeral Home East Hills, 2503 Bedford Street where funeral service will be held at 10am on Wednesday , the Rev.
