Roy R. Tomak

Roy R. Tomak, 85, Johnstown, died March 24, 2017, at his home. He was born July 21, 1931, in Johnstown, son of the late Roy Tomak, Sr. and Catherine (Komensky) Tomak. Preceded in death by his wife, Carol A. (Mack) Tomak; and son-in-law, Frank Genovese, Jr. He is survived by his children: Jane Genovese, Johnstown; Michael Tomak, and wife, Sherri, Seattle, WA; Joanna Patton, and husband, Donald, Johnstown; Donna Crawford, and husband, Jeffrey, Johnstown; Vincent Tomak, and wife, Cherie, Mineral Point; Anthony Tomak, Johnstown; Mary Dunn, and husband, Brian, Johnstown; and Rose Tomak, and special friend, Travis Dawson, San Diego, CA; grandchildren: Hannah and Ava Genovese; Shannon and Baylee Tomak; Jordan and Tyler Patton;  Nicole Patton and fiancé, Chad Polantz; Alexandria and Maggie Crawford; Easton, Garrett, and SkyAnn Tomak; Jimmy Evans; and Mackenzie and Roy Dunn; great grandchildren: Jameson Holmes and Dominick Blasko; sisters, Frances Foust, FL; Irene Key, and husband, Jerry, CO; Mary Ann Batzel, Johnstown; and Veronica Costlow, Johnstown; brothers, William Tomak and wife, Nancy, Johnstown; James Tomak, CA; and Richard Tomak, and wife, Ann, Elwood City; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friends and trivia buddies, Doug and Kathy Bowser. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, and a life member of Charles Menoher Post VFW 155. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War, and he retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rev. Angelo Patti, celebrant. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
