Robert R. Waring

Robert R. Waring, 80 years young. Passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on September 25, 2017. Born in Johnstown. He graduated from Conemaugh Township High School. Served in the Army and Army Reserves. His career was with C&P Telephone Company of Virginia for 34 years. Survived by wife Betty Waring; son, Jim Waring(Dessie); daughter, Jennifer Ortega (Rolly); daughter Charlotte Waring McDonald and Jamie Ruth; granddaughters, Amanda Jantzen (Drew), Madeline McDonald and Olivia McDonald.; great granddaughter, McKenna Jantzen. He was a member of Friends of Laurel Hill and Ridge Runners. A long-time NRA member also. Bob enjoyed hunting, salt water fishing, gardening, photography, collecting telephone insulators and best of all helping people. He was also a long suffering Washington Redskins fan. Also, and active member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Somerset. The burial will be private and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
