Ralph E. Schmidt

Ralph E. Schmidt, 88, Geistown, died March 5, 2018 at Richland Healthcare and Rehab Center. Born May 31, 1929 in Mineral Point, son of William and Esther (Havener) Schmidt. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Bernice (Page) Schmidt; son, Barry; and brother, Raymond. Survived by sons, Bruce (Karen Fitzpatrick), Somerset; Bill (Terrie Teeter), Wesley Chapel; and Brent (Courtney Buchan), Johnstown. Also survived by daughter-in-law, Karen (Harclerode), widow of Barry, Johnstown; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Brother of Shirley (Nevin Thomas). He was retired from Ace Drilling Coal Company, and was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Friends received from 9am until the hour of memorial service at 11am, Saturday, at Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, with Pastor Keith Dunn officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Windber Hospice.
