Nehemiah Henry Leftwich II

LEFTWICH- Nehemiah Henry II; 92, Johnstown.  Passed away February 7, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center.  Born November 17, 1924, in Virginia.  Preceded in death by wife, Audrey E. (Wright); his birth parents, Nehemiah Henry I and Julia Martin Leftwich; uncle William S. and aunt Deane (Brown) Leftwich who raised him; sisters, Pagie Golden, Nellie Miller, Shirley Clark, Julia Johnson and Grace Leftwich; and cousins, Charles, Ann Wright and Imogene Wright.  Survived by daughter, Susan J. Leftwich of Johnstown; and son, Nehemiah Hank Leftwich III of NJ; and granddaughter, Paige Leftwich of Johnstown.  Beloved member of the former Trinity Asbury United Methodist Church.  Member of NAACP.  A graduate of Johnstown High School.  WWII Army Veteran, he attended Lincoln College on the GI Bill, was a retired D.P.W. Casework Supervisor and also retired from Sears in Johnstown.  32nd Degree Mason of Johnstown Prince Hall Masonic Lodge. He is known to some as "Father Nehemiah PUM".  Friends will be received from 2-6 Sunday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday. Rev. Julius Porcher, officiating.  Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
