Mary C. (Kane) Andreassi

Mary C. Andreassi, 87, Johnstown, died April 16, 2018, at Church of the Brethren Home. She was born May 9, 1930, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Leo and Evelyn (Wolf) Kane. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Andreassi; daughter, Patricia Lynch; sisters, Patricia Green and Nancy Arnone; and ex-husband and good friend, Kenneth Schellhammer. She is survived by her children, Carolyn S. Kane, Silver City, NM; Deborah Berkey, Johnstown; Kenneth C. Schellhammer, Smryna, TN; and Jeffrey T. Schellhammer, Johnstown; five grandchildren; multiple great grandchildren; a sister, Joanne Reese, York; and a brother, Michael Kane, Johnstown. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, the Johnstown Garden Club, and was a volunteer at the Sandyvale Memorial Gardens. She had worked as a secretary at Crown American Corporation. She enjoyed gardening and art, and was a ruthless scrabble player. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Henderson Funeral Home East Hills, 2503 Bedford St., where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Rev. David S. Peles, celebrant.
