Lewis C. Oliver

Lewis C. Oliver,  "Shine", 92, Johnstown, died December 21, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born July 4, 1925, in Johnstown, son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Daidone) Oliver. He was preceded in death by sisters, Antoinette Sgroi and Carmella Falsone. He is survived by his wife, Margaret G. (Keifline) Oliver; son, Joseph Oliver, and wife, Debra (Verostick); grandsons, Michael, (Melissa Long) and Stephen, (Becky Heltzel); and great grandchildren, Madelyn, Mason, Landon and Jace; and step great grandchildren, Jacob and Keelie. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He retired from US Steel Corporation, and was a US Army WW II veteran, having served in the European Theatre. Friends will be received from 2 until 7pm Tuesday at Henderson Funeral Home East Hills, 2503 Bedford St., where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Father Anthony Francis Spika, OFM/Conv. as celebrant. Everyone is asked to please meet at church. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, where military rite will be conducted by Chas. Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team.
