Joan A. (Miller) Burns

Burns – Joan Arlene (Miller), 83, Sidman, PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 23, 2018 as a result of a brief struggle with cancer.  In her final months she celebrated the many blessings and memories of life with family and friends who Joan had touched in some way. She was born August 30, 1934, daughter of the late Clyde and Gertrude (Sauter) Miller. Proceeded in death by parents; husband, Charles Leonard Sr.; son, Charles Leonard Jr.; brothers and sisters, Nathan, Dwight, Margaret Miller, Gertrude Curry, Donald, Ethel Aslane, Homer Earl, and Glenn.  Survived by her daughter, Lorrie, wife of Donald Hollis, Falls Creek, PA; daughter, Wanda married to Richard Webb, and grandson Isaac, Sidman, PA; brother Harry Miller, Sidman, PA; grandson, Michael Miller-Burns, Jerome, PA; granddaughter, Rachelle married to James Jeffers, Roaring Springs, PA; granddaughter Bridget married to Shawn Ludwig, great-grandsons, Marcus and Keegan, Fort Riley, KS; granddaughter, Sharlie married to Joseph Robillard, great-grandson Ricky Green V, great-granddaughters Lexi Robillard and Skylar Robillard; Sister-in-laws Dorothy Cafeo, Johnstown, PA, and Betty Burns, Fort Washington, MD; numerous nieces and nephews.  Joan became a Born-again Christion on October 31, 1968 and enjoyed sharing the wonderful gift of salvation to others and attended Pike Grace Brethren Church.  She was a Child Evangelism Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, and Junior Church Teacher (over 25 years) while a member of the former Geistown Grace Brethren Church.  Joan enjoyed time spent with family and friends and faced everything with great faith and a joyful laugh. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, the Rev.
